MAI MAI PIETROWSKI

As an artist, I am influenced by my connection with the wonders of the natural world. The focus of my art is to provide an illustration of nature that inspires feelings of hope and beauty. As a colorist, my painting style emphasizes the contrast of bold colors with neutrals and the play of shadow and light.  I enjoy working with the design side as well - the juxtaposition of patterns and shapes.

With all the uncertainty and upheaval of life as we’ve known it, my paintings provide an oasis where the viewer can take a deep breath and be one with nature. Just as nature continues to reawaken and rebirth itself, so do we. And that gives us hope for the future.

The inspiration for my paintings comes from imagination, dreams, and nature and travel to my favorite places - Acadia National Park, Provence, Key West, the Caribbean and Cape Cod.  I am a South End based artist at SOWA in Boston and am a Juried Member of NAWA (National Association of Women Artists) in New York. Other memberships include: The SOWA Artist Guild, Cambridge Art Association and Fort Point Arts.  My artwork is held in private collections in France, Switzerland and the United States.

My work has been exhibited at the Prince Street Gallery in New York City, Liberty Hotel in Boston, Provincetown Art Museum, Zullo Gallery, Blanche Ames National Juried Art Exhibition, Atlantic Wharf Gallery, Marblehead Arts Association, Hopkinton Center for the Arts, John Joseph Moakley Courthouse, Amazing Things Art Center,  Massachusetts Audubon Society Moose Hill Gallery and the Danforth Museum School.

My art education includes Master Classes with Margaret Gerding and coursework at the Danforth Art Museum. I hold a Masters of Business Administration from Babson College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bridgewater State University.
